Participation in the Technical Operations Research Workshop of the Society for Operations Research
2021/04/13 by T. Müller / I. Lorenz
On 08 and 09 March, the Chair participated in the workshop entitled Technical Operations Research. The workshop aims to bring together and to provide a stage for networking between the disciplines of engineering, mathematics and economics.
In addition to participants from the Chair of Fluid Systems, colleagues from discrete mathematics (TU Darmstadt), University of Siegen, FAU Erlangen, BTU Cottbus and Frauenhofer ITWM Kaiserslautern spent two days discussing current research projects in a Zoom conference.
The chair gave two technical presentations and two cross-disciplinary presentations:
- Cost-benefit optimisation of resilient urban water infrastructures (Imke Lorenz)
- Comparison of optimisation methods for powertrain design (Philipp Leise)
- Research Data Management meets Technical Operations Research (Peter Pelz, Tim Müller, Marvin Meck) LINK hinzufügen
- Pyomo, JupyterHub and digital projects – insights into teaching TOR (Tim Müller, Marvin Meck) LINK hinzufügen
The latter two presentations were recorded and can be accessed via the link (german only).
The discussions revealed new aspects and an exchange was encouraged, e.g. in the area of teaching using Jupyter notebooks.
