At the public final colloquium on 01.06.2023, Zhixing Bao presented his work and answered questions from the auditorium.

Masterthesis: Identification of the dynamic properties of laminar annular gap flows

Mr. Bao dedicated his Master's thesis to the investigation of the dynamic properties of annular gaps with a significant axial flow component, such as media lubricated journal bearings and annular seals, under laminar flow conditions. Special attention was given to the often neglected inertia coefficient in the equation of motion. With his experimental research, conducted at one of the two unique annular flow test rigs at the Chair of Fluid Systems, Mr. Bao makes a significant contribution to the understanding of flow phenomena in narrow annular gaps and their resulting dynamic behavior.
