The tutorial aims at the practical illustration of the teaching contents of the institute's lecture of the same name “Fluid Energy Machines”. On several days, students are given access to the state-of-the-art test rigs of the Chair of Fluid Systems. In small groups, the participants independently investigate sub-areas of current research. The focus here is on the stationary behavior of fluid energy machines and fluid systems as well as internalizing the lecture content and expanding physical understanding.
Upon successful completion, students will be able to
(i) experimentally determine stationary characteristics of various fluid energy machines such as fans, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps,
(ii) analyze and interpret the recorded measurement data.
